Make The Turn is excited to announce the acquisition of Award Winning Lesson on Golf, the long-running golf show hosted by Jeff Lesson. The program now becomes part of MTT’s growing marketing and media portfolio and will be distributed on our Metro Detroit Golfers platform.

This announcement comes as Lesson on Golf enters its 30th year, marking a major milestone for one of the most established voices covering golf in the Detroit region.

For three decades, the show has provided weekly conversations with golf professionals, course operators, industry leaders, and passionate players from across the golf community. Lesson on Golf has long been heard on 97.1 The Ticket on Sunday mornings, building a loyal audience throughout Metro Detroit.

As part of this next chapter, the show will also expand into a new video format, beginning Masters Week this April. Episodes will be recorded at Make The Turn Studios, bringing a higher level of production to the program while maintaining the same conversations and insights that listeners have come to expect.

The new format will introduce video interviews, visual storytelling, graphics, and golf features, offering a more dynamic way for audiences to engage with the show.

Full one-hour episodes will now be available on the Metro Detroit Golfers YouTube channel, with additional clips and highlights distributed across Metro Detroit Golfers social media platforms.

Make The Turn co-founders Mike Sullivan and Kyle Bogenschutz both emphasized the natural fit between the long-running golf program and Make The Turn’s growing media platform.

Mike Sullivan, Co-Founder, Make The Turn

“Having personally worked with Jeff for many years, I’ve seen the great job he’s done building Lesson on Golf into one of Detroit’s most respected voices covering the game. When he came to us with the opportunity to acquire the show, it immediately felt like a natural fit for both brands. Bringing the program to Make The Turn at our studios also allows us to add a video component to this longstanding, successful program while keeping the same great conversations golfers have come to expect.”

Kyle Bogenschutz, Co-Founder, Make The Turn

“What makes this especially exciting is the distribution opportunity through the Metro Detroit Golfers platform. We reach more than 110,000 golfers across Michigan, one of the largest and most engaged golf audiences in the state. Pairing Jeff’s show with that platform gives us a great way to connect the conversations he’s been having for years with a very passionate golf community.”

Jeff Lesson, Host of Lesson on Golf

“For nearly three decades the show has always been about great conversations with people who care deeply about the game. Working with Mike and Kyle and recording the program with Make The Turn at their studios is an exciting next chapter, and I’m looking forward to continuing those conversations with the golf community.”
