What Is MDG?
The state of Michigan is a golf state. There's no other way to put it!
Metro Detroit Golfers (MDG) was founded in Spring of 2020 by Mike Sullivan and Kyle Bogenschutz.
They had a simple goal of taking the huge passion for golf in Michigan, and creating a brand to bring golfers together.
For many years, Mike and Kyle always thought there was a big demand for golf in our state... but... there was never enough content and coverage to feed that appetite!
Using their background in sports radio and television, along with their expertise from running their current marketing firm Make The Turn, they launched Metro Detroit Golfers as a Facebook Group initially, and it began spreading like wildfire.
With over 55,000 golfers in our MDG network, we are a place that brings Michigan golfers together for Michigan golf news, discussion, video content, events, and much more.
A lot of people around the United States don't even realize how popular the sport of golf is in Michigan. We are the 3rd biggest golf state (in terms of total golf courses). Pretty impressive for being a cold weather state!
We look forward to having you join our golf community!
How To Join Us?
The single best way to join our community is to follow our social media channels and join our email/text newsletters.
Our golfers love the Michigan golf news and updates that we provide. And especially our video content.
We are constantly looking at ways to do more events, outings, giveaways, and give as much value as possible to our MDG members!
There's an incredibly large appetite for golf in our state. MDG is a social media space that houses all of that passion!
We look forward to continuing to build our community of passionate Michigan golfers who want to talk about local golf, most importantly, and also the sport itself on a national level.
Thank you for being a part of this! We will continue to grow together and enjoy the game we love!

Do I have to be from Metro Detroit to get involved? No, absolutely not. In fact, we spend a lot of time talking about courses all over Michigan and even the United States. And many of our followers (especially YouTube) are from all over the country. While Metro Detroit and Southeastern Michigan is our home... and the biggest population in the state... our golfers travel all around Michigan and elsewhere.

Is Metro Detroit Golfers FREE to join?Yes, the main purpose of Metro Detroit Golfers has (and always will be) engaging with Michigan golfers and creating a sense of community. I have an idea or a business question for the MDG team... who do I contact? Thanks for your interest and ideas! Please simply visit our Contact Us page and reach out directly.
In our business, it's hard to find anyone outside of it who really gets it. MDG has proven that they do get it. They understand more than the game. They understand the business and the people who make it happen everyday for golfers. Combine this with their very unique ability to help us find the best ways to communicate, and it is a potent result.
We are so happy and fortunate to be able to work with their entire team at both Make The Turn and Metro Detroit Golfers!

I have had the pleasure of working with Mike Sullivan and Kyle Bogenschutz on various projects and have witnessed first hand how creative and effective they are with both Make The Turn and Metro Detroit Golfers.
They have a ton of knowledge and tremendous passion for the game of golf and I am confident they can help any facility or organization with their marketing needs.
