The upcoming 2026 Rocket Mortgage Classic will mark the end of the PGA Tour’s annual stop in the Motor City. Tournament officials and Rocket Mortgage have confirmed that after eight incredible years at Detroit Golf Club, and a total of 13 years as a PGA Tour title sponsor, Rocket Mortgage will not exercise its option for 2027.
Imminent changes to the PGA Tour's schedule layout and shifting institutional structures mean this summer’s event, running from July 30 to August 2, will serve as Detroit’s final tournament on tour for the foreseeable future.
Rocket Mortgage Classic's Lasting Impact on the City
Since making its debut in Detroit in 2019, the Rocket Mortgage Classic has injected massive energy into the local golf scene while generating over $10 million for local organizations. It gave Michigan its first steady PGA Tour stop since the Buick Open left Warwick Hills in 2009. From historic wins by players like Bryson DeChambeau and two-time champion Cam Davis, to young guns like defending champion Aldrich Potgieter, the tournament has provided unforgettable memories right in our backyard.
Send It Off Loud This Summer
While the news is tough for local sports fans, it means our community has one final opportunity to pack the gallery and show the golf world what Detroit is all about.
The field for this summer’s finale is already stacking up, featuring major commitments from elite talent:
Xander Schauffele
Cameron Young
Russell Henley
The tournament will be played on the newly restored Donald Ross North Course, ensuring the venue is in its absolute best condition for the historic send-off.
Let's make sure the final walk down the 18th fairway is one to remember. Tickets are available now at RocketClassic.com. Grab yours, get out to Detroit Golf Club, and let's send this tournament out with a massive local crowd.
