Celebrating Cam Spraggins as Director of Golf Partnerships with Metro Detroit Golfers and Make The Turn—driving new opportunities in golf partnerships.

At Make The Turn, we’ve always believed that the future of golf in Michigan is built on relationships, storytelling, and community. Today, we’re excited to take another big step forward in that mission.

We’re proud to announce that Cam Spraggins has joined Make The Turn as our new full time Director of Golf Partnerships, officially beginning on April 15th 2026.

In this role, Cam will lead and expand our marketing partnerships across the golf side of the business, while also playing a key role in the continued growth of Metro Detroit Golfers (MDG) — now the largest golf community in the state of Michigan with over 110,000 followers across all platforms.

"This is a really exciting moment for us. We’ve known for a while that the golf side of our business needed dedicated, full-time leadership, and bringing Cam on is a big step in that direction. As we continue to grow, having someone solely focused on building relationships and creating value within the golf community was essential — and we couldn’t think of a better person to do it."

Cam brings a unique combination of golf experience, academic excellence, and industry insight to the team.

A Michigan native originally from Genesee County, Cam spent much of his upbringing in Dover, Ohio, where he developed both his game and his work ethic. He went on to play five years of collegiate golf at Heidelberg University, serving as team captain for four of those years. During that time, he also excelled in the classroom, graduating summa cum laude in 2024 with degrees in History and a minor in English, and later completing his MBA in August 2025.

But beyond the accolades, what stands out most about Cam is his deep-rooted connection to the game.

Like many of us, the golf course was more than just a place to play — it was where friendships were built, lessons were learned, and a lifelong passion took shape. From working in pro shops to picking range balls, bartending, and waiting tables, Cam has experienced the game from every angle. That perspective gives him a genuine appreciation for the people who keep courses running — the very people he’ll now be working closely with every day.

Professionally, Cam most recently spent two years with AmateurGolf.com, where he wore multiple hats across tournament coverage, digital content, membership services, and customer relations. That experience sharpened his understanding of what golfers and golf businesses truly need — and reinforced the importance of storytelling in growing the game.

That mindset aligns perfectly with what we’re building at Make The Turn.

As Director of Golf Partnerships, Cam will be focused on building meaningful relationships across the Michigan golf ecosystem — from course operators and PGA professionals to superintendents, architects, retailers, instructors, and beyond. His role will also be instrumental in continuing to elevate MDG as the central hub for Michigan golf culture.

"The growth of Metro Detroit Golfers has been incredible to watch, and it’s reached a point where it truly demands full-time attention. Bringing Cam on allows us to not only support that growth, but to think bigger about what MDG can become. We have a lot of exciting ideas for how we can continue to build the community and provide even more value to golfers across Michigan."

In his own words, Cam is most excited to “get into the field and meet the people who make Michigan golf great.”

We couldn’t be more aligned.

Cam is a proud Michigander, a passionate golfer, and someone who understands both the business and the culture of the game. We’re fired up to have him on board as we continue to grow Make The Turn and serve the golf community across the state.

Please join us in welcoming Cam to the team.
