Exciting developments are on the horizon for Pine Trace Golf Club, a beloved public course in Metro Detroit. Beginning in September 2024, Pine Trace will undergo a significant renovation aimed at enhancing the golfing experience and reestablishing itself as a premier destination for local golfers when they re-open in 2026.
What’s Happening:
Brand New Driving Range and Practice Facility: A state-of-the-art, relocated practice area will be developed, providing golfers with an exceptional place to refine their game.
Major Upgrades to Greens, Fairways, and Tee Boxes: Pine Trace is investing in its playing surfaces to ensure they meet the high standards expected by its loyal players.
New Cart Paths and Improved Landscaping: The course will feature updated aesthetics and smoother navigation with the introduction of new cart paths and landscaping improvements.
Key Dates:
September 3, 2024: The course will temporarily close to kick off the renovations.
Spring 2026: The anticipated grand reopening will showcase a revitalized Pine Trace Golf Club, ready to welcome back golfers with its upgraded facilities.
Why It Matters:
When Pine Trace opened in 1989, it quickly became a benchmark for public golf in Metro Detroit. Over the years, the course has remained a favorite among local golfers, thanks to its challenging layout and welcoming atmosphere. However, after 35 years, the facilities require updates to keep up with the evolving demands of today’s golfers.
Metro Detroit Golfers Founder, Mike Sullivan, shared his thoughts on the upcoming renovation: “Pine Trace has always been a great local public golf course that our golfers post about frequently. It’s great to see them making significant upgrades to continue serving their loyal golfers. We’re looking forward to seeing the before-and-after renovations and hearing the feedback from the community.”
Important Updates From Pine Trace:
Pine Trace will remain open until September 2, 2024, providing golfers with a final opportunity to enjoy the course before it temporarily closes. For more details on the renovation and to stay updated on the project’s progress, visit Pine Trace’s Renovation Project Page.
