Eight Michigan Courses Ranked Among America’s Top 100 Public Tracks

It’s no secret that Michigan is a powerhouse when it comes to public golf, and a newly released national ranking further solidifies that reputation.
According to Golf Digest’s latest list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses, eight courses from the Great Lakes State earned a spot—highlighting the exceptional quality, beauty, and experience that Michigan courses offer.
These selections range from world-renowned destinations along the shoreline to inland gems carved into Michigan’s rugged terrain. Here’s a look at the Michigan courses that made the cut:

#16 – Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs Course)
Perched above Lake Michigan, Arcadia’s iconic views and demanding layout continue to earn national praise.
#37 – Forest Dunes Golf Club

#53 – Arcadia Bluffs (South Course)
The links-style counterpart to the Bluffs Course, the South Course blends classic design with challenging strategy.
#55 – Greywalls at Marquette Golf Club
Carved through the Upper Peninsula’s rocky terrain, Greywalls is one of the most unique and visually stunning courses in the country.
#63 – The Loop (Black Course)
Designed by Tom Doak, this reversible course offers a completely different experience when played from the opposite direction.
#68 – The Loop (Red Course)
Yes, both versions of The Loop made the list—highlighting its one-of-a-kind design and architectural brilliance.
#70 – Tullymore Golf Resort
Known for its creative layout and pristine conditions, Tullymore continues to be a West Michigan favorite.
#100 – Bay Harbor (Links/Quarry)
Nestled on the edge of Little Traverse Bay, Bay Harbor’s dramatic landscape delivers both challenge and breathtaking scenery.
