As northern Michigan prepares for another golf season, Boyne Golf continues to reinforce why it remains one of the premier golf destinations in the country.

“At Boyne Mountain, we ski on one side and we golf on the other.”

In a recent Lesson on Golf segment, longtime Director of Marketing Ken Griffin shared updates on spring openings, early-season tee time deals, and the national recognition that continues to elevate Boyne Golf on a national stage.

A Destination Built Around 10 Championship Courses

Few golf destinations in the Midwest can match the scale and variety of Boyne Golf.

Across its northern Michigan properties, Boyne offers:

  • 10 championship golf courses

  • Multiple resort lodging options

  • Stay-and-play golf packages

  • Four-season recreation experiences

For many golfers, Boyne represents the centerpiece of Michigan’s reputation as a summer golf destination.

Golf Season Is Almost Here

As temperatures rise across northern Michigan, Boyne is preparing to transition from ski season into golf season—a process unique to the resort’s mountain setting.

According to Griffin, the goal is to:

  • Open several courses by the first weekend in May

  • Have all 10 championship courses operational by May 8

Projected openings include:

  • The Moor — late April target opening

  • Alpine, The Hills, Crooked Tree, and Bay Harbor courses — early May rollout

  • Dune Break — the new 9-hole short course expected to open in early June

One of the most unique aspects of Boyne Mountain is the ability to ski on one side of the property while golfing on the other during seasonal transition periods.

Tee Time Specials for the 2026 Season

To help launch the season, Boyne Golf is offering limited-time spring and summer pricing specials.

Highlights include:

  • Morning tee times on The Heather for $95

  • $33 tee times at Dune Break, Boyne’s new short course experience

These specials are expected to run from early May through the end of July.

National Recognition Continues to Grow

Boyne Golf recently earned major national recognition after being voted:

  • #3 Golf Resort in the United States in the USA Today 10Best rankings

The recognition reflects not only the quality of the courses, but also the overall experience guests receive across the resort network.

For Boyne’s leadership team, that consistency—from course conditions to hospitality—remains a major focus.

More Than Just Golf

While championship golf remains the centerpiece, Boyne’s appeal extends beyond the fairways.

Visitors can build full golf vacations around:

  • Resort lodging

  • Dining and nightlife

  • Spa and recreation amenities

  • Northern Michigan scenery and outdoor activities

The result is a destination that attracts both serious golf groups and casual getaway travelers alike.

“Those kind of accolades keep rolling in, and it’s a credit to our team and the staff.”
